Burning Sky by Lori Benton
At the age of fourteen Willa
Obenchain was abducted by Mohawk Indians. After the effect of the Revolutionary
War Willa feels compelled to return to her home in New York. But when she
arrives she finds her parents missing and her childhood home in disarray. Along
the way she meets a wounded Scotsman and nurses him back to health. As she
works hard get her home back to the way it was, she still thinks about her
other home, with the Indians. I was really excited
to receive this book to review, and right away began it. I had very high hopes for
this book. The plot of the story engaged me even before I began reading it. But
sadly I was very disappointed and it soon lost my interest. I tried so bad to
like this book and enjoy reading it, but I just didn’t. At the beginning it was very slow to start
and didn’t really grab my attention. I liked the overall plot of the story; I
just wish it grabbed my attention right from the get-go. I rate this two out of
five stars.
