     Set in the 1850s Emma is a young woman living in Bethel, Missouri with her family. But when her beliefs clash with their colony leader, troubling times are yet to come. Emma embarks on journey that will forever change her life.                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Emma of Aurora is the complete trilogy that follows the true story of Emma Wagner Giesy. What first intrigued me about this book was that it was based on a true story.  I was excited to start reading this massive book. But I was soon sadly disappointed when I began reading it. I could not get myself immersed into the story. It does have quite a slow beginning, and I found myself wanting to skip certain parts in the book that I found to slow. I did start enjoying it when it started to pick up a bit, but then it would have another dead part.                                                                                                                                                                        Overall I give this book three out of five stars. Although it was a slow start if I really wanted to I could push myself through the book. I thought it was beautifully written, and possible will read it again.

The Dawn fo Christmas Book Review

The Dawn of Christmas by Cindy Woodsmall

                 The dawn of Christmas is the perfect holiday book to snuggle up and read. I loved this book from the start and read it within two days. It’s a perfect book to read on those chilly days that you just want to sit down and read a good book.                                Sadie loves her mission trips to Peru and enjoys being a single Amish woman despite her parents shoving her off to different suitors.                         But when destiny forces Sadie and Levi together they begin to form a friendship. Soon there friendship begins to turn into something more that both of them are afraid of.                                                          I absolutely loved this book and will definitely read it again. It was such a short and sweet story that you will love. Overall I rate this five out of five stars.

Burning Sky Book Review

Burning Sky by Lori Benton

At the age of fourteen Willa Obenchain was abducted by Mohawk Indians. After the effect of the Revolutionary War Willa feels compelled to return to her home in New York. But when she arrives she finds her parents missing and her childhood home in disarray. Along the way she meets a wounded Scotsman and nurses him back to health. As she works hard get her home back to the way it was, she still thinks about her other home, with the Indians.                                                                           I was really excited to receive this book to review, and right away began it. I had very high hopes for this book. The plot of the story engaged me even before I began reading it.                                                But sadly I was very disappointed and it soon lost my interest. I tried so bad to like this book and enjoy reading it, but I just didn’t.  At the beginning it was very slow to start and didn’t really grab my attention. I liked the overall plot of the story; I just wish it grabbed my attention right from the get-go. I rate this two out of five stars.
